The suspended matter reduction performance of the permanent volume retention system is established in accordance with figure 4.5; it is included between 50% and 90% and varies according to the ratio between the volume of permanent water in the water and sediment accumulation zone and the runoff volume to be treated, Vquality, and according to the temporary retention period.
The temporary retention period corresponds to the time elapsed between the moment the volume of the temporary water reaches a maximum level and the moment there is less than 10% of the volume of maximum temporary water in the system.
The volume of the temporary water is the difference between the volume of water in the permanent volume retention system and the volume of permanent water in the water and sediment accumulation zone.Figure 4.5 Suspended matter reduction performance
